The Challenge
Students completed this project while we were studying sound waves in science. Groups were required to create a "soundproof room" using a shoebox. The group with the greatest noise reduction successfully met the challenge.
The task: Build a soundproof room
Materials: shoebox, foam sheets, cotton balls, popsicle sticks, felt, fleece, paper, plastic cups, hot glue, two cell phones: one with the deciBel X app and one with the Sound Generator app
Constraints: May use only materials provided above, and the completed soundproof room, including data collection, is due by day 5
